In February 2025, as part of the #BuildingHealthierCommunities initiative, colleagues from Viatris Komárom joined local residents to help restore one of the city’s most valued green spaces – the hospital park.
Organized by the local civic association “Come to the Hospital Park”, the event brought together around 60 volunteers, including colleagues, city council members and community representatives. Supported by the city's gardening contractors, volunteers pruned trees, cleared brush and picked up litter to prepare the area for spring.
Viatris Komárom also donated 12 saplings, which colleagues helped to plant, strengthening the biodiversity of the park. In total, colleagues contributed approximately 30 volunteer hours to the event.
“The hospital park is deeply connected to many of our colleagues’ lives – from their births to the care of their families today,” said a member of the Komárom team. “Helping maintain it is about giving back to a place that means something personal to so many.”
Originally the grounds of a noble family’s manor, the park not only supports local biodiversity but also preserves a part of Komárom’s cultural heritage.
Through #BuildingHealthierCommunities, Viatris colleagues are helping to strengthen the ties between health, community and environment across Europe.
